Pattern - Easy Eyelet Poncho and Wrap
This is a printed pattern to be mailed or picked up.
In possibly the simplest lace pattern that exists (it’s a one-row repeat!), we’ve reinterpreted this wrap in so many yarns over the years. Now we’ve seamed it into an easy poncho for a breezy, multi-season layer. Quick to knit, it’s got more holes than yarn!
For the heavy worsted-weight version of our Easy Eyelet Wrap, we used one strand of DK-weight Rowan Softyak DK and one strand of lace-weight Kidsilk Haze held together. For the DK-weight poncho, we used Rowan Creative Linen.

FINISHED SIZES
Poncho: Approx. 22 x 50"/56 x 127cm, after blocking, before folding and seaming. Note: Length and width will stretch and change when worn.
Wrap: Approx. 22 x 68"/56 x 173cm, after blocking; fringe adds 4"/10cm per end.
YARN
Details given for poncho; wrap in parentheses ( ).
DK-weight: Approx. 600 (820) yds/549 (750)m DK-weight yarn.
Heavy worsted-weight: Approx. 525 (715) yds/481 (654)m of heavy worsted-weight yarn held single or a lace-weight mohair and DK-weight yarn held together throughout.
Poncho shown in 3 skeins Rowan Creative Linen (219yds/200m each), Color 635.
Wrap shown in 4 skeins Rowan Kidsilk Haze (229 yds/210m each), Color 599 and 5 skeins Rowan Softyak DK (148 yds/135m each), Color 250 held together throughout.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
DK-weight: US 8 (5mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge.
Heavy worsted-weight: US 10½ (6.5mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge.
Both gauges: US G/6 (4mm) crochet hook for provisional cast-on.
5 yds/m smooth DK-weight yarn for provisional cast-on.
2 locking markers. Darning needle to finish. Blocking wires and/or T-pins.
GAUGE
DK-weight: Approx. 13 sts = 4"/10cm in eyelet stitch, after blocking.
Heavy worsted-weight: Approx. 10 sts = 4"/10cm in eyelet stitch, after blocking.
Note: For both gauges, row gauge will be determined by your swatch.
